A SPECIAL Better Late Than Never Shoot + Dun, Dun, Dun...You Guessed it, The Ridiculousness that is...The Bachelorette

>> Tuesday, June 28, 2011

OH Boy...last night's Bachelorette...CRAAAAAZY!!!  I'll get to that in a minute though.

First I want to share this Fab You Bliss after wedding shoot with you.  And I must say I LOVE...LOVE...LOVE the story behind it.  Lisha and Matt were married a few years ago but they couldn't afford a wedding photographer at the time so unfortunately they went without.  Fast forward a few years later and enter photographer extraordinaire Diana Camacho with Simply D. Photography who together with Lisha cooked up this stylized "Day After", or in this case..."Years After" shoot, to make up for the wedding images they didn't have.  I think this is a marvelous idea!  And I adore the images they captured.

Both Lisha's dress and Matt's trousers, shirt, tie and suspenders are what they wore on their wedding day and Lisha actually asked Matt to grow his hair so it would be the same length as it was when they married.  So cute!  Lisha's gorgeous strapless lace gown from Bella Rose Bridal in Oklahoma City looks stunning and perfect for this lovely field setting in Wake Forest, North Carolina with the vintage look they created.

I say great job guys, these images are absolutely lovely and I just know you'll treasure them always.

Now...if you're anything like me you probably spent a good part of yesterday anticipating a really juicy episode of last night's Bachelorette.  I mean...the popcorn was made and Beef Cake and I cozied up in our construction induced make-shift living room with great hopes for some real-life...wink, wink...entertainment.  Yet again, if you're like me, you were most likely let down after all the Bentley hype and fizzle of a show.  So let's talk about the stupidity of what was.  I swear this morning I woke up with a splitting headache and not because of anything I drank, rather my head hurts because I shook it so many times in disbelief of what I was seeing.  I also covered my eyes and curled my knees into my chest in complete embarrassment for Ashley as I cannot believe ANYONE would be so stupid as to actually beg the producers of the show to fly a jacka$$ like Bentley half way around the world for him to give her a period instead of a dot, dot, dot.  Absolutely ridiculous I tell ya.  I mean...shouldn't the fact that he left the show in the first place give you the closure you should have taken weeks ago?  DUHHHHHH!!!!  Oh, she makes me so embarrassed to be a woman!

So now...Bentley is gone and like I said last week, I predict the show will sink into the nothingness it is without his Super-Ratings-Dude antics. I think they're tyring to make Ryan take his place as someone who will draw viewers in with controversy, but we all know there's absolutely nothing juicy about the show now.  And as Ashley continues her McDonald's-like interview process with the remaining men now that Mickey walked out and Blake was sent home, I predict the winner will be Ben and he and Ashley will live happily ever after within the couple of months of most Bachelor and Bachelorette's happily-ever-afters.  The End!

If you are as disappointed with the show as I am, please share your thoughts.  And what do you think of Lisha and Matt's after wedding stylized shoot?

Have a Fab You Bliss Tuesday!

xoxo
Stephanie

The Bachelorette's SPECTACULAR HOT MESS + A Fun Myrtle Beach E-Session

>> Thursday, June 23, 2011

Okay...NOW let's talk about Monday night's episode of The Bachelorette.  Ohhhhh Ashley...you were doing so well with convincing the world you are ready to move on, then you went and mentioned the "B" word within 2.5 seconds.  It's true...I counted.  One-one thousand, two-one thousand, three one-... BLEEP...you said his name.  Shame, shame.  I'm beginning to think you might never get over him...and to be honest, so is the rest of the world.  Also, remember when you emphatically told Chris Harrison you just know there was something there between you and douche bag, I mean Bentley?  Can you hear how utterly stupid you sound?  I mean really, take it from someone who's been there and done some pretty ridiculously embarrassing things back in the day when it came to guys and relationships. And I'm not normally one to bash on the ladies, (GIRL POWER), but I mean seriously friends, she has to be so embarrassed watching the show now knowing what a complete a$$hole Bentley is.  Don't you think?  Also, does anyone else think there's absolutely no chemistry between her and, well...ANY of the other guys?  It's almost as if she's interviewing them for a job at McDonald's or something because it seems like she's not even interested in the slightest.  Can anyone say snooze-fest?

Of course...WE are still talking about the show and people are obviously still watching.  But I'm feeling like the Bentley sensational train will pull into the station to soon and this lame season will fizzle into the nothingness it is without 'Super Ratings Dude'.  So let's get down to the nitty gritty.  Next week's episode is teasing to be one SPECTACULAR HOT MESS with tears and other guys abruptly leaving the show, (good for them), and I predict somehow, to Ashley's complete and utter disappointment, Bentley will go home again.  Boo hoo.  After that...what's left to watch?  The only person remotely attractive in Ashley's eyes is Ben F. and I'm betting he gets the final rose.  That's it...done...show's over.

But of course it's not, so...until next week....

Venue:  Kingston Plantation, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

How about this super sweet engagement session submitted by Brooke Christl Photography via Two Bright Lights.  Meredith and Tim, who will be getting married next month, had a fun engagement session with Brooke Christl at several locations in Kingston Plantation.  I love the special looks these two give each other...so in LOVE.

There is one picture that is my absolute favorite among all of these though.  Can you guess which one it is?

Have a Fab You Bliss Thursday!

Issues with The Future IN-LAWS + An Intimate Detail Filled Wedding on the Island of Kauai

>> Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Seriously so much to talk about after last night's Bachelorette, but that will have to wait until tomorrow's post as today  I want to bring up a really TOUCHY subject.  But it's an important one that I'm guessing not many engaged couples talk or even think about.  I know Beef Cake and I never talked about it before.  And now after having been married for a while I'd say every soon-to-be husband and wife should make this a priority to discuss...because it's a pretty darn big one.

So...let's let it all hang out.

The subject is...drum roll please...after marriage, with the almost always oh-so complicated blending of two families, do you Step in or  Step off?

Say what???

Here's what I mean.

*Disclaimer* Real life in-laws are in no way associated with any examples...wink, wink.

Example situations.

1.  Your Sister-in-Law habitually gives into their kids’ refusal to eat any food but bread.   Step in or Step off?

2.  Your Father-in-Law makes inappropriate comments on your blog thinking it can only be read by you.  Luckily you have the “approve” feature activated…can I hear a collective whew!? Step in or Step off?

3.  Your Mother-in-Law sips a few too many non non-alcoholic beverages at lunch.  Step in or Step off?

4. Your Brother-in-Law borrows are large sum of money from your In-Laws and refuses to pay it back causing the in-laws financial difficulties.  Step in or Step off?

Tricky, eh?  So what do you think?  What would you do?  Would love to hear your thoughts.

Okay...let's chat about today's gorgeous wedding at a private residence in Haena on the island of Kauai.  Kristin and Justin were married on March 19, 2011 in this oh-so-lovely and beautifully intimate wedding photographed by uber talented Melissa Dunstan at Melissa Dunstan Photography.  I just love the way she's captured all the special details fabulously designed by Kim Duncan of KD Event Designs.  All of the unique glassware was collected by Kristen from various antique shops in Kauai for guests to use at the reception during the intimate meal of fresh, local Hawaiian cuisine which was prepared by Chef Grant Carnes. And all of the paper products were created by event designer Kim Duncan. Aren't the colorful dinner menus just divine?  My favorite are the vintage postcards that Kristin and Justin used in lieu of a guest book which they plan to read on their one year wedding anniversary.

Such a sweet and stunning wedding!
