Wednesday's Fab You Bliss Finds: Random Fun Things

>> Wednesday, June 22, 2011

So, our remodel construction began on Monday and little Miss Q is not happy about ANY of it.  I can't say I'm incredibly crazy about it either, (except for the fact I'm getting a new kitchen).  But only 3 days into it with my running schedule completely thrown off because the guys show up at 7 AM and I'm usually running at that time, I'm gettin' a little grouchy...and feeling fatter than normal by the minute.  Bleh...

Anyway...moving on.  Pupawg likes the workers being here...of course she does, because there are more peoples to pay attention to her every whim and we all know the world revolves around her...or we should.  What she doesn't like about all this work is that things are different in her house and of course she insists on barking at whatever the different thing is.  Case in point...the new garden window in the kitchen at 4:30 AM!  Okay...I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of the window yet either as it actually makes the kitchen appear darker and I was really hoping for the opposite given this house has a lightness deficiency.  But there's no need to bark at it!  Especially at that hour!!!

Funny dog.  She's just lucky she's so darn cute and I love her so much otherwise she'd be OUTTTA HERE!

All products found on Etsy.  Product & Image credit from top to bottom.  1. & 3. Decorative sign & dog bed from Kiss My Mutt; 2. Bridesmaids bracelets from Ionkoosh; 4. Tote from Asuhan; 5. I Rescued My Human tag from Chubby Chico Charms;  6. Sense and Senibility Tote from CamillaCotton; 7. Summer Thistles from Flores del Sol;  6. Rose necklace from Amy897

Speaking of dogs and cute things, I felt a random selection of fun items from Etsy would be appropriate for today's Fab You Bliss Finds because...well, I felt like it and I can :-)

So you all know how much I love me some doggies...right?  Well, isn't this "Must Love Dogs" wooden door sign just adorable? I think I'm going to get one for our house. And the 3 vintage bridesmaids collage bracelets...what a beautiful idea!  Your girls would absolutely love these...I know I would.  And how about the dog bed (dog sold separately & it's not Miss Q) or the two super comfortable looking shoulder bags?   Perfect for summer and yes, comfort...also perfect since I'm feeling FATTER as I sit here typing, not running, bleh...

I told you last week I might start writing like a serial killer...you were warned.

Anyhooodle...I love this little "I Rescued My Human" dog tag from Chubby Chico Charms, so cute and so true too...dogs do rescue humans, except when they're barking at new garden windows at 4:30 AM!  No...I'm not annoyed.

Moving on...what do you think about these Summer Thistles or the linen roses bib necklace?

Oh, poop...I know I promised you my 'After the Rose' re-cap of Monday night's Bachelorette, but it looks that will come tomorrow now.  Something to look forward to?  So that's it...that's all I've got for today.  Chat with ya tomorrow.  Until then, have a Fab You Bliss Wednesday!

Weak Coffee & Wednesday's Fab You Bliss Finds

>> Wednesday, June 1, 2011

My coffee tastes watered down this morning...yuck :-(  We bought a Keurig machine about a month or so ago and after using all the individual packets that came with it we are now using the filter where you add your own grounds.  The problem is, no matter how many grounds you pack into the filter, and believe me I've packed a lot in there, the coffee is never quite as strong tasting as I'd like it.  Does anyone else have this problem?  If there's a solution, I would really like to know.  Because I REALLY like my coffee strong.

Anyhow...I mentioned that Wednesday's Fab You Bliss Finds would not all be about weddings.  And since I'm neck deep in thoughts about our remodel and wall color for the kitchen is swirling through my brain...today's post is all about beautiful pieces I found with color combinations that kept catching my eye.

Oh this lovely green is simply scrumptious!  And okay, maybe some of these pieces could be used for weddings.  Take the dress for instance, a 60s pastel green embroidered net lace dress by LaMeow Vintage.  I would love this dress for any special occasion and it would be stunning as a bridesmaids dress.  This one you could surely wear again.  And the vintage tag by Numbers 14, how cute would it be to use them as escort tags?

This blue...oh this blue-grey is going to be so perfect for my office and the browns and tans will blend beautifully as accents.  Okay, I'm feeling better about wall color selections...now to these gorgeous pieces.  Isn't this cover by Bayou Salvage so darling?  They call it a jacket because it only ties at the top.  I want one...it's perfect for a summer cover-up!

From top left: gray gardens sweet ruffle jacket from Bayou Salvage.  Top right:  Butterfly Pillow by Giardino  Bottom left: Pair of Teacups from DarshanPottery 3" tall, 3 1/2" wide. Holds 10 oz.  Bottom right:  Flower Power necklace by KapKaDesigns.  All pieces were found at Etsy

So what do you think of today's finds?

Now...I'm off to see if I can somehow get some stronger coffee.  Enjoy your Wednesday!

Remodel Tizzy, Dissing Brangelina and Bright Lights

>> Monday, May 30, 2011

So...it's a holiday weekend and I'm interchangeably working on blog posts, scouring the 'Inter-Webs' for new ideas and Fab You Bliss finds for y'all...and gathering inspiration for our new kitchen & office remodel, which is scheduled to commence in T-Minus 2.5 weeks...eeek!

No...I didn't just say eeek because I don't want the remodel to happen.  Heavens no!!!  I've been waiting for this remodel to start since before the world began!  Since before it was cool to say cool, even before that movie came out, you know the one where Brangelina fell in love....while he was married to someone else.  But of course they denied it the whole world only to give an interview about it years later saying that's just how they fell in love.  Dumb liars!  Oh, was that my out loud voice?

Okay, okay...that should be water under the bridge by now, but my memory is long and I still don't forgive them for that...we're not stupid, ya know.

Anyhooooooo...as I've hopefully well established the wait for my new kitchen and office has been a long time in coming.  But I'm freaking out a little because there are so many decisions that come with the remodel...so many choices from paint to counter tops to sink and faucet styles to the office flooring and the wall color I will want to look at, (or not look at), day in and day out.  It's a lot of pressure to make these decisions as some of them are permanent...well, permanent as the life of a kitchen or office goes.

You know what I'm talking about right?

In a way...I think the design process of a home remodel and the design process of a wedding are very similar...in a teeth pulling, ranting and raving, hair falling out torturous kind of way ;-)

But seriously...both convey style, both involve budgets and above all else...both are a reflection of ones personality.  Take the detail images shown below from Stacy Haldeman & Marco Figueira's Real Wedding submitted by Katie's Lens Photography via Two Bright Lights.  Isn't the lighting just Divine?  I love the way the way the pink, purple and gold lights play off all the detail pieces from the frame to the flower arrangements to the snowflake hanging off the edge of the Chiavari chair.  It's definitely bright and showy, but it's a statement and I can see a lot of love went into designing just how everything here would look and definitely paid off.

Fab You Bliss Things! Gorgeous Tiaras from Twigs & Honey

>> Friday, May 20, 2011

Today's Fab You Bliss Things go out to these gorgeous tiaras from Twigs & Honey.  I wanted to do a post on tiaras as a shout out to my good friend Jessica Frey who absolutely loves tiaras and I think she would swoon over these.  And when I say she loves them, that is an understatement given her recent birthday party invitation suggested wearing a tiara to the party was greatly encouraged :-)  And at WPPI in Las Vegas this past February when we saw several people walking around the convention center wearing cute tiaras used for photography props, we went on a mission to find were to get them.  I love this obsession!  So here you are Jess, what do you think?

Although these are not your typical tiaras...I think they are so spectacular they deserve a place in our Fab You Bliss Things.  Princess Catherine move over!

Have a Fab You Bliss Friday!

Thursday Love...Pretty Things!

>> Thursday, May 19, 2011

Today's love goes out to these beautiful wedding dresses which we absolutely fell in love with so we're sharing them with you!

This first dress is a COLLETTE charmeuse halter gown with bow detail and it is a super wearable, super chic gown that will never go out of style.  The halter neckline front and back is tied into place with a charmeuse sash.  Tie it in a knot for a chic modern look or in a floppy bow for subtle femininity.

This next dress is just as lovely, just in a 60's hippy kind of way.  This floor length dress is made from raw silk which has a natural nubby look and is a great ivory color. It is fully lined and has a zipper up the back and elastic at the top and waist to ensure a comfortable fit. There is a flounce on the top that remains un-finished on the edge to keep the relaxed look.

So...tell us what you think.  We have our favorite, which dress do you like best?
